Police are appealing for witnesses to a road traffic incident in Sheffield, which left a 19-year-old man with life-threatening injuries this morning (Sunday 7 February).
The incident occurred at 4.05am at the White Lane junction with Briar Field Road, near to Gleadless Post Office, Sheffield.
A group of males were travelling in a black taxi from Chesterfield to Sheffield. The cab pulled into a lay-by on White Lane and three of the occupants got out of the vehicle and the offside passenger door remained open.
As the taxi pulled back onto the carriageway the 19-year-old fell out of the cab and into the road and sustained a life-threatening head injury. The driver continued without stopping.
The man from Sheffield remains in the Royal Hallamshire Hospital.
