Following on from its success in Rotherham and Bradford, Jamie Oliver’s Ministry of Food will open its doors to the public in Leeds this summer, with a new food centre in the Kirkgate Market.
The facility will be run in partnership with NHS Leeds and Leeds City Council and will also provide a HealthPoint facility, where anyone can pop along to access health and lifestyle advice, including how to access stop smoking services, health and social care.
Experience gained since the Rotherham food centre was set up has been shared with the new ventures in Bradford and Leeds, which will also focus on encouraging local people to eat healthily and to cook nutritious meals on a budget.
