Following an article in today's Manchester Evening News, both Manchester City Council and Manchester City Football Club would like to reiterate the following information.

As detailed in the press release which was widely issued earlier today, a Joint Development Board with Manchester City Council, the football club and New East Manchester has been created.

This board has been formed to consider options for the development of the area in and around the Sportcity site and to examine the potential of the area.

Such considerations MAY lead the creation of further football facilities in the longer term, however any speculation regarding potential plans and associated investment and expenditure is pure supposition and grossly premature.
