Police are wanting to speak to anyone who may have witnessed a serious assault on a 17-year-old male that happened at a bus-stop on Bonet Lane, Brinsworth at about 2.30pm, Wednesday 14th July.

The victim, who is from the local area, was stood waiting for a bus when he was approached by a group of male youths.

It has bee reported that one youth from the group, described as a white male aged 16-17-years-old, 5ft 8in tall with a slim build, punched the victim on the side of his face. The victim fell to the ground, temporarily losing consciousness.

A driver passing by stopped at the scene and transported the victim to Rotherham District General Hospital where he has had surgery for serious facial injuries.

Officers have been told that there were several members of the public at the bus-stop when this incident happened and they are keen to speak to anyone who was there or has any information about this case.
