Families with children of all ages are invited to Rotherham’s Clifton Park for a free weekend of entertainment and play opportunities as “Play in the Park” returns for another year of fun.

Taking place on Saturday, July 31 and Sunday, August 1, between 10am and 4pm on both days, the weekend will feature everything from Bungee trampolines and donkey rides to an exciting climbing wall.

Play in the Park, which is funded by the Big Lottery Fund and Aiming High for Disabled Children, will be the perfect opportunity for people of all ages to come along and find something to 'have a go' at, and at the same time enjoy the beautiful surrounds of Clifton Park at the best time of the year.

If you fancy a reminder of the World Cup, there will be an African drumming workshop, and if you want to forget it, ABBA-obsessed comedy duo, Val and Halla will be travelling in their musical longboat to pillage and pirouette their way through the park.

Excitement comes in the form of grass sledging, a climbing wall and sports activities. Rotherham's very own SD Crew will be dazzling us with hip hop and street dance routines

Project Development Officer, Asif Akram, said: "Last year, Play in the Park was a massive success. Hundreds of kids enjoyed the fantastic activities that were on offer.

"The idea of Play in the Park is that there is something for everyone to do, no matter what their ability or background is. It's a weekend where everyone can come together and have a great time in a great setting, and all for free!

"We will have people building dens with the Park Rangers, a pets corner, face painting, junk modelling, water play, arts and crafts activities and imagination gaming.

"It will be a fantastic two days. I hope we will see you there."
