Young people from Avenues Library have organised a medieval festival for other youngsters to take part in.
The group, who meet regularly at the library, bid for funding from the Youth Opportunity Fund, through Hull City Council and received £1050 to carry out their idea.
At the event, named 'Knights Rule', children and young people will be able to make their own medieval art and costumes with the help of Artlink, as well as taking part in den building with Scrapstore and a Robin Hood workshop with Creative Projects.
Events take place on Thursday 29 July at Avenues Library, 1 - 4pm and on
Friday 30 July, Jack Kaye Walk (in between Ella Street and Goddard Avenue), 1 - 4.30pm.
Helen Dalgairns is a Project Worker with Hull Youth Council who has been supporting the group to deliver their idea. She said:
"This group of young people share a joint interest in British history and decided that they wanted to organise a festival that allowed children and young people to explore and enjoy aspects of the medieval period.
"After being successful with their bid to the Youth Opportunity Fund, the group have been able to make their idea a reality."
